Teaching Tips

Count everything

Count steps as you climb stairs, grapes on the plate, or cars in the parking lot. Real-world counting is more powerful than worksheets alone.

Use manipulatives

Give your child small objects (blocks, buttons, cereal pieces) to count alongside the worksheet. Touching objects makes numbers concrete.

Start where they are

If your child can count to 5, start there. Mastery at each level builds confidence and prevents frustration.

Practice daily

Even 5 minutes of counting practice each day leads to significant progress over a few weeks. Consistency matters more than duration.
